West Covina Unified School District will begin registration for the 2013-2014 school year beginning Monday, March 4, 2013. To enroll in kindergarten, a child must be 5 years of age on or before October 1, 2013. Requirements to enroll include proof of residency in the district (gas, water, or electric bill), proof of the child’s age (birth certificate, baptismal certificate, or passport), and proof that the child has received required immunizations. A health examination needs to be done before school begins in August 12, 2013. California law requires that each child provide proof of immunizations and an oral health assessment (dental checkup) by May 31 in kindergarten or first grade, whichever is the child’s first year of public school.
