West Covina is a District of Choice

West Covina Unified School District welcomes families who live outside the district’s boundaries to submit a District of Choice transfer requests for the 2014-15 school year.  As a designated District of Choice, any student currently enrolled in Kindergarten to Grade 12 may now apply to attend West Covina schools, even if WCUSD is not their home district.  Per state law, a student’s home district may not prevent District of Choice transfers into WCUSD.

Applications may be submitted for District of Choice transfers between November 1, 2013 and January 6, 2014.
The District of Choice option is available to any student who does not live within WCUSD boundaries but is interested in attending WCUSD schools for the 2014-2015 school year. Admission to the district through a District of Choice transfer is a request and does not guarantee placement of students at their school of choice.  Every effort, however, will be made to accommodate specific school requests.  If the number of applications received exceed space availability, a lottery will be held.  All notifications will be done by mail prior to the start of the 2014-15 school year.  Please direct questions to WCUSD Pupil Services at (626) 939-4600 ext. 4682.
